The show went on!
Nature threw everything it had at the 2011 Alresford Music festival. Hail, rain and gales, the only thing missing was snow.
BUT the show went on, and attendance of the brave festival goers was on a par with 2010. To the brave souls who stuck with us we can only salute you and a true festival spirit was there in abundance. The music was fantastic and diverse, and the feedback we've received has been brilliant. If you were there on 18th 2011 we can say a huge thank you and we hope to see you back again this year.
The festival supports the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and the Alresford Youth Association and we had hoped to build on last year’s success, and though the Festival was 33% bigger this year, we did not anticipate the level of adverse weather. However, the Festival ran to schedule and the big-top beer tent was doing a roaring trade showcasing some of Hampshire’s finest brews. We have to thank all of the bands for battling through as the music was just fantastic, from the festival openers Reactor 1 through to the headliners DODGY.
We would like to thank the many 'Friends of the Festival', in particular our principal sponsors First Option, our prime contractors GLS Lighting and their team, Winchester City & New Alresford Town councils and ALL of you that have supported our efforts.
See you all on 9th June!
